Gareth Southgate, England national team coach, has alleged that there is an agenda against Harry Maguire at Manchester United.
Southgate blamed the form of the defender on how he has been treated, stating that he has never seen the sort of treatment meted out on Maguire on another player.
Maguire, 29, was dropped to the bench after Manchester United tasted defeats in their opening two games against Brighton and Brentford.
Afterward, United’s manager, Erik Ten Hag opted for a defensive partnership of summer signing Lisandro Martinez and French defender, Raphael Varane.
The change in defense has earned Man United victory in their last four games, including wins against Liverpool and Arsenal.

Reacting to the development, Southgate told Chanel 4, “For some reason, there’s a big agenda with Harry Maguire and a big agenda against him.
“I’ve never known a player receive the sort of treatment that he has.
“He’s been a crucial part of us getting to a World Cup semi-final, he was named in the Team of the Tournament at the Euros.
“He knows what we think of him. He’s been, basically across that period, our most important defender.”
