Notwithstanding the success of the demonstration, the leaders of the protest risk being sacked from their jobs. The query which was obtained by Daily Info, signed by the Acting Director of Admin, Mrs Evelyn Ugwu, accused them of forming illegal and parallel union not registered or known to fight the government, uttering defamatory words against the board and the State Government, engineering and sponsoring unrest in schools, threatening closure of schools, neglecting official duties without permission, and breaching the rules of communication in public service by addressing letters to higher authorities instead of following due process.

The query is to be submitted within fourty-eight (48) hours to the office of the executive chairman, Enugu State Universal Basic Education.
