Super Eagles midfielder, Wilfred Ndidi has been sidelined for the friendly match between Nigeria and Algeria on Tuesday through injury.
This was disclosed by the Nigeria Football Federation, NFF, in a tweet on its official Twitter handle on Thursday.
The statement failed to give details on the extent of the injury suffered by the Leicester midfielder.
According to the NFF, Ndidi left the Eagles and returned to his club in England for further assessment.
The NFF wrote: “Super Eagles midfielder Wilfred Ndidi is injured and out of the game against Algeria. He has left the team’s camp and returned to England. Get well soon Wilfred.”

Ndidi had missed the Super Eagles 2022 World Cup qualifiers against the Black Stars of Ghana due to an injury.
He last represented Nigeria in January this year in the 2021 AFCON round of 16 match against Tunisia.
