INEC, during a news conference in Yenagoa, reaffirmed its commitment to using the Bimodal Voter Accreditation System (BVAS) for voter accreditation and result transmission in the upcoming Bayelsa governorship election on November 11.

Resident electoral commissioner Obo Effanga assured that non-sensitive materials were already distributed to local government areas, and sensitive materials would be stored at the Central Bank of Nigeria upon arrival. Effanga emphasized that the election process would adhere to constitutional provisions, the Electoral Act, and INEC guidelines.

After voting at polling units, results would be counted and recorded on physical result sheets, with BVAS capturing a snapshot. These results would then be authenticated at the collation center, where uploaded photographs would be made available on the result viewing portal. The process would proceed from ward to local government to state collation centers, culminating in the announcement of the final results and declaration of a winner.
Effanga assured strict adherence to election guidelines and emphasized the importance of engaging with voters for election success, pledging non-interference in the process.
