I Sold Bedbug Killer, Doughnuts Before Fame – Brain Jotter

Nigerian skit maker Brain Jotter has opened up about his struggles as a student at the University of Lagos before achieving fame. He revealed that he held various menial jobs, including selling insecticides and doughnuts, to make ends meet.

In a recent interview on Hip TV’s Trending program, Jotter described his financial struggles during his university years. “In 2020, my salary was N15,000. In 2021, my salary was N30,000. In 2020, I was working in a laundry,” he recalled.

He further elaborated on his side hustles, stating, “Apart from working in a laundry, I was also doing other stuff. In my school, I was selling bedbug killer. In my first year, I sold doughnuts in my class. In year two, I sold bedbug killer. And year three, I drove to school.”

Brain Jotter’s experiences highlight the challenges faced by many students who must juggle work and education to make ends meet. Despite his financial constraints, he persevered and eventually found success in the entertainment industry.

“Ever since my video went viral till now, I can’t just stay five days straight without working,” he admitted, reflecting on his post-fame life. “I’ve been restless since hitting stardom, probably except I’m not in Lagos. But even if I’m not in Lagos, I’m still thinking of ideas for content.”

Jotter’s relentless work ethic and dedication to his craft have propelled him to stardom. His story serves as an inspiration to aspiring artists and entrepreneurs who face similar challenges.
