Thirteen persons have reportedly lost their lives as the canoe they were travelling with capsized in the Ringim Local Government Area of Jigawa State.
The incident happened on Sunday evening when the victims boarded a canoe from Dabi village to Sayango to commiserate with a relative over the death of a loved one.

Information gathered said that some of the victims have been recovered, while others were still missing.
The incident has been confirmed by the Police spokesman in the state, DSP Lawam Shiisu Adam.
