WWC: Super Falcons Qualify For Knock Out Stage

The Super Falcons of Nigeria have qualified for the knockout stage of the Women’s World Cup after drawing the Republic of Ireland on Monday (today).

The Nigerian side qualified for the next stage with 5 points from three matches – a win and two draws.

The female team shared the spoils with the Republic of Ireland to advance to the round of 16 after playing out a draw with Canada in the first group match before grabbing a win against Australia.

Prior to the match, Nigeria led Group B with four points and a goal difference ahead of Canada who also had an equal number of points. Australia sat in third with three points.

But Australia topped Group B with six points after thrashing Canada 4-0 to guarantee a place in the last 16.
