Immediate past Rivers State governor, Nyesom Wike, has been cleared by the Senate for ministerial appointment.
Wike who was pictured in a clip shared by a Twitter user, Imran Muhammad arrived at the National Assembly complex with his wife on Monday.
the former Rivers State governor and stalwart of the opposition Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, was part of the first batch of ministerial nominees President Bola Tinubu sent to the Senate.

Reports had confirmed that the red chamber will commence the screening of the ministerial nominees submitted to it by President Tinubu.
This comes as speculations mount that the President plans to create new ministries and form his full cabinet in two weeks.

Senate Spokesperson, Yemi Adaramodu (Ekiti South) speaking after President of the Senate, Godswill Akpabio read out the names of the 28 nominees on the floor of the senate, said the upper chamber had stepped down all its activities to start the screening immediately.
Adaramodu said, “Screening will commence on Monday. We have suspended all the rules to accommodate the screening of the nominees.
“We were supposed to proceed on our vacation today (Thursday) but it has been suspended for this screening. We are starting the screening on Monday. We are not going to allocate time to nominees to talk.”
