Yet to be identified gunmen have killed about five Nigerian soldiers and a civilian in Umunze, Anambra State on Wednesday.
The gunmen ambushed the soldiers in Umunze, Orumba South Local Government Area of Anambra State, killing many officers of the Nigerian army.
A video clip obtained by Daily Info showed the moment after the attack as locals gathered around the scene of the incident.
Meanwhile, Anambra State Governor, Charles Soludo has condemned the attack in the strongest terms.
Soludo in a statement issued by his Press Secretary, Christian Aburime, promised to bring the perpetrators to justice.
The statement read, “We condemn this wicked and cruel attack in the strongest terms. The perpetrators of this act must pay. We are not going to rest on our oars, including those people that attacked Senator Ifeanyi Ubah and the rest. There will be absolutely no hiding place for them.
“Going forward, our actions will show, as these people must surely pay for this heinous and repulsive attack”.
Soludo urged residents to maintain calm and remain law-abiding as the security agencies are on top of the situation.
