Nigerians have taken to the social media, to mourn and remember fellow compatriots who lost their lives at the Lekki toll gate in October 2020. The Nigerian military was accused of killing innocent youths who were at the toll gate to protest against police brutality and the activities of notorious SARS operatives.
Also remembering the sad event, Alex Ekubo on Thursday stated via a post on his Instagram page that the Lekki toll gate should be toll-free, saying we paid with our blood in full.
Alex Ekubo, also called for the renaming of the Lekki Tollgate in memory of the lives lost in the peaceful protest, on Tuesday, the 20th of October 2020.
Sharing a photo from the protest against police brutality, he said “Dear Nigerian Government, we will NEVER forget this day. 20 – 10 – 20 💔 We will return the favour. 🤞🏾 The Labour of our heroes past shall never be in vain. ✊🏾

“I still maintain, Lekki Toll plaza should be renamed Lekki Memorial Way & remain toll free forever. We paid in full with our blood.🩸
