The Sierra Leonean Police Force has apprehended Benjamin Nnanyereugo, the Nigerian man who was declared wanted for the alleged murder of his girlfriend, Augusta Osedion.
Benjamin Hundeyin, the Lagos State Police Public Relations Officer, confirmed this arrest.

According to Hundeyin, the Nigerian Police have received confirmation of Nnanyereugo’s arrest by the Sierra Leonean Police Force. Efforts are now underway to extradite him to Nigeria.
On October 11, the Lagos State Police Command declared Benjamin Nnanyereugo as a wanted individual in connection with the death of Augusta Osedion, his 21-year-old girlfriend. The tragic incident occurred on July 13, 2023, at his residence in Oral Estate, Ajah, Lagos.

The police issued a statement, expressing their inability to locate and apprehend Nnanyereugo through available means, thus declaring him wanted. They described the suspect as a 26-year-old man, approximately 5’9 ft tall, from Abia State, with a dark complexion. He is fluent in English, Igbo, and pidgin English.The public has been urged to report any information about his whereabouts to the nearest police station or call 0803 688 5727.
