This announcement aligns with constitutional and electoral act requirements, respecting the timelines for these elections. The tenure of Edo and Ondo state governors will conclude on November 11, 2024, and February 23, 2025, respectively.

For Edo State, party primaries will take place from February 1 to 24, 2024, while the final list of candidates will be published on April 23, 2024. Campaigning by political parties will commence on April 24, 2024, and end 24 hours before the election on September 19, 2024.
In Ondo State, party primaries are scheduled for April 6 to 27, 2024, and the final list of candidates will be published on June 18, 2024. Political parties can commence public campaigning on June 19, 2024, and conclude 24 hours before the election day on November 14, 2024.The political parties in both states have expressed their readiness and enthusiasm for the upcoming elections.
