Amankwo Ngwo Seeks Three Autonomous Communities

Amankwo Ngwo community was in a joyous mode as Comrade Felix Obinna Nnadi, the President General, PG, of the community and his executives summoned an emergency session today at Ekeodudo Town Hall to discuss the creation of more autonomous communities in Amankwo Ngwo based on the instruction of his Excellency the Executive Governor of Enugu state Rt Hon Dr Ifeanyi Ugwuanyi.

In the session was Dr Nick Obi Ozonsi, (Egbuluezeama 1 of Ngwo, Hon Ikechukwu Ozo (Eziafakaego 1 of Ngwo), Ozor Engr Dr Ferdinand Ozoani (Uba-azolu-na abali), Ikenge Sunday Eddy Agualor (PG Emeritus), Ozor Dones C. Agu (Ozor Akunnamu-Egbunamu), and Elder Linus Offor (Offor na ewu-ewu.)

Others include, Sir Ike Pat Agu, Hon Chuks Ozoagu, the Women Leader of Amankwo women wing, Hon Mrs Promise Offor (Ngalakwesiri), the former women leader, Dr Mrs Carol Okwor (Osodieme), the youth leader of Amankwo Ngwo, HRH, Engr Chimezie Onyia and many more dignitaries.

Speaking at the event, Ozor, Engr, Dr Ferdinand Ozoani narrated his efforts thus far in ensuring that Amankwo enjoyed the status of two autonomous communities and how some disgruntled elements hijacked the process, thinking that it will result to his disadvantage without considering the implicit implications involved.

He added that he was totally in support of the latest move so far it is in tandem with the directive of the town Union.

He cited what he described as a sham, a meeting by a group, led by a certain politician some days ago to discuss the issue of creation of new autonomous community as directed by the state government.

Hon Ikechukwu Ozo while assuring his support to the project referenced a meeting he attended where the PG was absent. He stated that when he inquired why the PG was absent, he was told that he was invited but did not show up. He said he had told the group that it was the duty of the PG to call for such a meeting and not the other way round.

Engr Dr Nick Obi Ozonsi, threw his weight on the idea, pledging to support in any means possible to achieve the good idea, saying that idea is timely. He encouraged the PG to set a committee to that effect.

He added that the onus lies on the Town Union general assembly to decide their fate not on a mere social club like Elites Club of Amankwo.

The PG thanked the speakers, most especially Hon chuks Ozoagu, Sir Pat Agu, for supporting the idea. He appreciated the general assembly for responding steadily to the call.

A committee was democratically setup to see to the actualization of the new and proposed autonomous communities, as terms of reference was issued. The committee was given 48 hours to come up with a communiqué.

The committee members includes Pastor Emma Eze as the chairman of the committee, Ikenge Eddy Sunday Agualor as the secretary of the committee, Ozo Dones Agu, Hon Linus Offor, Hon Chuks Ozoagu (Agbananwanna), Sir Pat Ike Agu as members.

The Town Union also extended an olive branch to other social clubs and community heads to come up with their plans, stating that all submissions must be to the PG and his executives.
