Adamawa Governor Ahmadu Fintiri approves a monthly allowance of N10,000 for National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) members serving in the state.
This marks the first such initiative in the state, aiming to address inflation concerns. Governor Fintiri emphasizes the corps members’ role as “strategic partners” in development initiatives. The announcement was made during the opening ceremony of the 2024 Batch ‘A’ Stream 1 orientation programme for NYSC members in Adamawa.Fintiri, represented by his deputy, described the allowance as a way to “cushion the effects of inflation.”

He encouraged the corps members to be diligent and committed in their service, contributing to areas like education, healthcare, and rural development. Jingi Denis, the state NYSC coordinator, commended the governor’s initiative, calling it “the first of its kind” in Adamawa.
He urged the corps members to comply with camp rules and regulations. The news also mentions the number of registered corps members (1,336) and the official administering the oath of allegiance.
