The Flying Eagles of Nigeria was inflicted their first defeat at the 2023 U-20 World Cup by Brazil who beat them 2-0 in the last group D game on Saturday.
Brazil won the match through late first-half goals by Jean and Arsenal attacker Marquinhos.

The defeat condemns the Flying Eagles to five defeats in their six meetings with Brazil at the U-20 World Cup, drawing just one.
The Nigerian side played the match knowing they had already qualified for the round of 16.
Brazil took the lead through a header by Jean in the 43rd minute after he headed in a corner.
Marquinhos grabbed a second two minutes into first half stoppage time as he finished off a swift counter attack.

Jude Sunday almost gave the Flying Eagles the lead in the eighth minute but his volley came off the crossbar.
The Flying Eagles, on six points, finished as one of the third best placed teams.
Brazil, also on six points, topped the group while Italy, who defeated Dominican Republic 3-0, came second.
The Flying Eagles could face either hosts Argentina or USA in the next round of the competition.
