Why Healthy Living Will Put Many Companies Out Of Business- Nonye Soludo 

Nonye Soludo, wife of the Anambra State governor, Charles Soludo has said that companies that produce products with harmful chemicals will either sit up or be put out of business if Nigerians imbibe the culture of healthy living. 

Mrs Soludo stated this during an interaction with the media at the governor’s lodge, Amawbia, Awka on Tuesday. 

The Anambra first lady who recently launched her “Healthy Living Club with Nonye Soludo” across schools in the state said the essence of imbibing healthy living has far-reaching effects on every individual in the society.

The ‘Healthy living club’ is aimed at setting up Healthy Living Clubs in primary, secondary, and tertiary institutions in the state. The goal of the club is to educate and promote healthy living values to children and youths and help them live better and healthier lifestyle. 

Mrs Soludo said the club is hinged majorly on six thematic areas which include;   fitness, nutrition, environmental cleanliness, basic skills, sex education, and mental health education. By imbibing these values, the Anambra first lady aims at educating young persons and mothers in the state on how to adopt a healthy lifestyle.

In her speech with newsmen, she spoke extensively on the need to catch them young. According to her, children learn better and the skills and knowledge they gain will live with them for a lifetime. 

She said, “We teach them how to take care of their environment, personal hygiene, basic first aid skills, dangers of drug abuse, right eating habit, sex education, and the importance of exercising.”

Speaking on the need for daily exercise, she emphasized the need for daily exercise and the importance of consistency in working out.

She advocated the need for daily walks and the use of bicycles as it promotes fitness and provides enough energy for the day’s task. She said the use of bicycles will help curb the emission of harmful gasses which worsen climate change. 

She added that the initiative is funded by donations from individuals but there is hope the federal government will intervene to help spread the message across the country.
