Rafa Benitez Set to Replace Nottingham Forest Boss, Steve Cooper

Rafa Benitez might make a shocking comeback to Premier League play with newly promoted Nottingham Forest.

Since their promotion to the Premier League last season, the Reds have had a rough start. They have only won one of their first eight league games this season, and their recent slump worsened on Monday night against local rivals Leicester City.

At the King Power Stadium, the Foxes completely outclassed their opponents. James Maddison led the home team to a 4-0 victory, which was their first victory of the year.

Ahead of the match, there were suggestions that Forest boss Cooper was under immense pressure with owner Evangelos Marinakis considering a managerial change – talk that has only got louder following the final whistle in the East-Midlands.

Cooper currently finds himself ‘on the brink’ of losing his job and it appears that his replacement has already been identified in the shape of former Liverpool and Newcastle boss Benitez. The Spaniard already boasts a relationship with Forest advisor Lee Charnley, from their time together at St James’ Park.
