A former coach of the Super Falcons, Ismaila Mabo, has died aged 78.
Mabo passed on in the early hours of Monday at his residence in Jos, the capital city of Plateau State, after an extended period of sickness.

The iconic Mighty Jets of Jos captain and ex-international had in January spoken to Punch about his illness which he had been suffering following the death of his wife.
Plans have been made for funeral prayers for the deceased at 10am on Monday.

Mabo who is deemed the most decorated Nigerian women’s football coach led the Falcons to their first-ever outing at the Women’s World Cup – a quarter-final finish at the 1999 edition. he also led the team to 2000 and 2004 Olympic games.
