Philip Solomon, a 17-year-old student from Oyemekun Grammar School in Akure, Ondo State, has been officially declared the Guinness World Record holder for the most skips on one foot in 30 seconds.
On January 24, Solomon successfully completed 153 skips on one foot within the given time, surpassing the previous record of 145 held by Rasel Islam of Bangladesh.
After four months, the Guinness World Record officially confirmed Solomon’s achievement on Tuesday.
Solomon drew inspiration from Rasel Islam, the previous record holder, upon watching a video of his record attempt. Determined to achieve the record himself, Solomon underwent rigorous training and even had the opportunity to participate in a skipping world championship, as announced on the Guinness World Record website.

With this accomplishment, Solomon joins Gbenga Ezekiel, a student from Ijapo High School in Akure, who previously set the world record for the most skips on one leg in one minute with 265 skips. Together, they have increased Nigeria’s rope skipping Guinness World Records count to two.
Additionally, Solomon expressed that he was inspired by Gbenga Ezekiel’s achievement earlier this year.
