Netherlands-Born El Ghazi Set To Switch Allegiance Ahead of World Cup  

Anwar El Ghazi, PSV forward, has confirmed that he is considering switching allegiance to Morocco ahead of the 2022 World Cup in Qatar.

El Ghazi who is Netherlands born has featured two times for their national team and recently expressed desire to represent the 2010 FIFA World Cup finalists.  

But he was snubbed in the provision squad released by the Netherlands coach, Louis Van Gaal.

Reacting after scoring in PSV’s 3-0 victory over NEC Nijmegen on Sunday, El ghazi confirmed that he could switch to represent Morocco.

He stated that Morocco’s federation are in the process and that the World Cup could still be feasible.

Morocco is expected to release their squad for the World Cup in less than two weeks. The North African side are in Group F alongside Croatia, Canada, and Belgium.
