Naira Marley has voluntarily surrendered to the Lagos State Police Command for questioning regarding the ongoing investigation into Mohbad’s death, just days after his associate Sam Larry was also detained.
The Police Public Relations Officer, Benjamin Hundeyin, confirmed this development on Tuesday night, stating that Azeez Fashola, known as Naira Marley, was in custody for interrogation.
Naira Marley, in a recent post, expressed his arrival in Lagos to cooperate with authorities in uncovering the truth and ensuring justice prevails. Despite facing accusations of bullying and involvement in the late singer’s harassment, Naira Marley maintains his innocence.

Mohbad, a former signee of Naira Marley’s record label, passed away at 27 under unclear circumstances in September. Responding to the allegations against him, Naira Marley strongly refuted any role in Mohbad’s death and denied running a drug cartel through his label.
He pledged dedication to proving his innocence and cooperating with authorities to provide sufficient evidence.
Naira Marley highlighted the intense scrutiny and global reputation damage he’s faced since Mohbad’s demise, emphasizing that he was abroad at the time of the tragedy and refuting stories linking him to his former signee’s untimely death.
