President Muhammadu Buhari is scheduled to address the nation as part of activities to mark the 62nd anniversary of the country on Saturday, October 1, 2022.
The address which will take place by 7 am is expected to be aired on television, radio stations, and other electronic media platforms.
This was contained in a statement issued by the Senior Special Assistant to the President, Femi Adesina, on Friday.
This year’s anniversary will mark Buhari’s last Independence Anniversary address to the nation as he will hand over to a new government on May 29, 2023, after completing his second tenure as President.

The statement read, “As part of activities commemorating the 62nd Independence Anniversary of the country, President Muhammadu Buhari will address the nation on Saturday, October 1, 2022, at 7 am.
“Television, radio stations and other electronic media outlets are enjoined to hook up to the network services of the Nigerian Television Authority and Radio Nigeria for the broadcast.”
