In response, Blessing CEO, represented by her lawyer Prince Nwafuru, filed a preliminary objection challenging the Federal High Court’s jurisdiction, asserting that the state High Court should handle the case. The prosecution countered, citing the Cybercrimes Act and federal enactments, arguing for the Federal High Court’s competence.

Justice Bogoro directed the adoption of briefs of argument during the hearing and scheduled a ruling on all applications for January 30, 2024. Blessing CEO had been remanded in prison custody during the initial arraignment but was later granted bail. The prosecution alleges that Blessing CEO intentionally used her Instagram handle to cyber-bully, threaten, and harass Folashade Samuels, a.k.a.
