In Awka, the capital city of Anambra State, a tragic event has taken place, resulting in the murder of a young man named Chima, a lecturer in the Department of Psychology in Nnamdi Azikiwe University Awka by his houseboy.
Various sources have provided details of the encounter between and his houseboy, which culminated in a violent altercation that claimed Chima’s life.
Upon apprehension by local security forces, the killer disclosed that he repeatedly struck his master, Chima, with a pestle after being questioned about neglecting his household responsibilities. Chima’s inquiry was met with silence, prompting him to slap the houseboy, which sparked a fight that led to Chima’s death.
Additional reports indicate that the houseboy used both a kitchen knife and a pestle to attack Chima even as he lay defenseless on the floor in a pool of blood, which suggests a deliberate intention to cause his demise.
The young perpetrator, believed to be no older than 17, hails from the Abakaliki region of Ebonyi State. He has since been handed over to the Awka division of the Nigerian Police Force for further interrogation. Meanwhile, the deceased Chima’s body has been transferred to the morgue for a post-mortem examination.
