Officers of the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency, NDLEA, have nabbed a former Nigerian footballer, Emmanuel Junior Okafor, for peddling cocaine.
This was contained in a statement issued by the NDLEA on their official Twitter handle.
The footballer was nabbed at the Murtala Muhammed International Airport, Ikeja, Lagos when he arrived from Sao Paulo, Brazil through Addis Ababa, Ethiopia on board an Ethiopian airline.
Okafor was allegedly caught with 1.40kg of crack cocaine. The indigene of Arochukwu Local Government of Abia State, was arrested on Monday, 26th September 2022.

He was discovered by anti-narcotic operatives to have hidden the substance in the handles of his luggage.
Okafor, 33, during an interview, stated that he was an erstwhile player with the University of Nigeria Teaching Hospital, UNTH, Enugu FC, where he featured in four seasons before departing to Sri Lanka in 2014.
According to him, he switched to Brasil after playing two seasons in Sri Lanka. However, a lack of official documents prevented him from playing in Brasil.
