Amuneke Keen on Super Eagles Coaching Job

Emmanuel Amuneke, former Nigeria international has expressed interest in coaching the Super Eagles if given the opportunity.

Amuneke disclosed this during an interview with News Central.

The former Barcelona forward has so far had spells only as an assistant coach with the Eagles.  

He was appointed as the coach of the Tanzanian national football team in 2018 and led them to the 2019 Africa Cup of Nations qualification.

Speaking during the interview, Ameneke who is the current consultant to the coaching crew of Zambian club Zanaco, said he would the opportunity to coach the three-time AFCOn winners.

He said, “I’ve never coached the Super Eagles, I’ve only gone twice to assist someone but coaching Super Eagles on my own I have not.

“But of course, Nigeria is my country and the national team we are all part of it and when the opportunity comes and Nigerians feel that we can add something to the national team of course it’s a welcome development.”

Ameneke had in 2015 led the Golden Eaglets to win the U-17 World Cup in Chile. Among the stars at the tournament in Chile are Victor Osimhen, Samuel Chukwueze, and Kelechi Nwakali.
