South African business magnate Johann Rupert has cemented his position atop the Forbes Africa Billionaires list for 2024, retaining the crown he earned by dethroning Nigerian titan Aliko Dangote last year.
However, the year also witnessed significant shifts in the rWhile Rupert saw his net worth dip slightly from $10.7 billion in 2023 to $10 billion, Dangote suffered a steeper decline, falling from $13.5 billion to $9.7 billion. This significant $3.8 billion loss pushed him down to the second spot.
The landscape also welcomes two new entries into the top ten. Nathan Kirsh of Kenya, with a net worth of $5.8 billion, grabs the fifth position, while Mohamed Mansour of Egypt joins at number eight with $3.6 billion.

Other notable changes include Abdulsamad Rabiu moving from fourth to sixth position despite increased wealth ($7.6 billion to $5.7 billion), while Mike Adenuga dropped from sixth to tenth with a significant net worth reduction ($6.3 billion to $3.1 billion).
