Ogenyi Onazi, former Lazio midfielder, is convinced that Victor Osimhen deserved the Most Valuable Player, MVP, award in Serie A this season.
Osimhen has built a reputation as one of the most prolific strikers in the world this season.
The Super Eagles of Nigeria forward is the current top scorer in Serie A with 21 goals.
Osimhen, 24, is on course to make history as the first African player to win the golden boot award in the Italian top-flight.

Onazi is optimistic his countryman will be a deserved winner of the MVP award.
Onazi told Tuttomercatoweb, “He deserves MVP for what he’s done in Serie A and also for what he’s done this season in the Champions League. I have no doubts.
“Osimhen continues to grow and will do even better. In Nigeria, we have had strikers who have written football history but Osimhen is still a starter and, I think for him only the sky will be the limit.” The Nigeria international is expected to be in action when Napoli host Salernitana at the Estadio Diego Armando Maradona on Sunday.
