Why Bishop Kukah Is Still Pained By Buhari – Adesina

Femi Adesina, a former spokesperson for ex-President Muhammadu Buhari, has said that the Catholic Bishop of Sokoto Diocese, Mathew Kukah, is still pained that Buhari did not patronize him throughout his administration.

Adesina stated this in a tweet on Tuesday while reacting to Kukah’s criticism of Buhari’s administration.

The former spokesperson tweeted, “Who listens to that Bishop again? He’s still pained that he got no under-the-cassock patronage from Buhari, unlike in the past. As e dey pain them, e dey sweet us.”

Adesina stated this while reacting to criticism by Kukah who on Monday in Ekiti State said that Nigerians witnessed widespread corruption under the Buhari administration.

Kukah stated this while giving a keynote address at the 60th call-to-bar anniversary of legal luminary, Aare Afe Babalola, in Ado Ekiti, Ekiti State capital.

According to the Catholic Bishop, although corruption did not start under Buhari, the immediate past president’s tenure witnessed the amplification of corruption.

Kukah said, “We have seen the worst phase of corruption in Nigeria, Femi Falana, my friend here, will speak about that because he has published a series of articles talking about what happened under the Buhari administration.

“They were not the ones who caused corruption but I think in the last administration, we saw the ugliest phase of corruption whether in moral terms, financial terms and other terms.”

However, ex-Senior Special Assistant to  Buhari on Media and Publicity, Garba Shehu, declined reacting to Kukah’s comment.

Shehu told Punch that he was not best placed to speak on the matter as it concerned the Buhari administration as a whole and not the person of the ex-President.
