OPay Digital Services Limited (OPay) has announced that its President/Co-Chief Executive Officer, Olu Akanmu, will be leaving the company next month.
The announcement was made through an official statement on the mobile money platform’s Twitter page on Tuesday.
In the statement, the management expressed gratitude for Olu Akanmu’s significant contributions to the company’s success and goodwill during his tenure. They acknowledged him as an advocate for greater financial inclusion in Nigeria and stated that he is moving on to pursue other goals in the same direction.
While OPay will miss his presence, they wished him well in his future endeavors. The departure of Olu Akanmu opens up the opportunity for Dada Gotring to take on the role of the incoming Managing Director. However, the appointment is pending regulatory approval.
