Elon Musk, Mark Zuckerberg Set To Fight In Rome, To Be Streamed Live

Elon Musk, the CEO of X (formerly known as Twitter), and Mark Zuckerberg, the founder of Meta, are gearing up for a cage fight that will take place in ancient Rome.

Musk disclosed that the fight will pay homage to the ancient culture of Rome, embracing a purely traditional theme. The entire fight will be broadcast in real-time on the X and Meta social media platforms.

This announcement comes weeks after Elon Musk challenged Mark Zuckerberg on his X platform. He playfully proposed a cage fight to Zuckerberg by stating, “I’m up for a cage match if he is. lol.” Responding via his Instagram stories, Zuckerberg said, “Send me the location.”

Musk, through his X page, shared on Friday that the event’s management will be overseen by the respective foundations of both Musk and Zuckerberg, as opposed to the involvement of UFC.

Moreover, Musk emphasized that all aspects of the event will reflect reverence for Italy’s past and present, with the proceeds directed towards supporting veterans. Musk confirmed discussions with Italy’s Prime Minister and Minister of Culture, securing mutual agreement on a spectacular location.

According to the AFP, Italian Minister of Culture Gennaro Sangiuliano acknowledged his interaction with Musk, to organize a charity event laced with historical significance.

In a formal statement, Sangiuliano confirmed that any engagement with Musk would generate “a huge sum, many millions of euros, (that) will be donated to two important Italian pediatric hospitals.”

He added, “It will also be an opportunity to promote our history and archaeological, artistic, and cultural heritage on a global scale.”
