Aliko Dangote, Africa’s richest man is on the verge of buying a French Ligue 2 club, Valenciennes.
French news platform, Entreprendre reports Dangote will buy 60% ownership of the club.
The Nigerian business mogul has been linked with English Premier League side, Arsenal in the past.
However, a new turn of events sees him being linked with Valenciennes, formed in 1913 and which plays its home matches at the newly built Stade du Hainault.

The club have spent 40 seasons in League 1 and 36 seasons in Ligue 2.
They are yet to win the Ligue 1 title but have clinched the Ligue 2 title two times.
The Athenians have also played in the French Cup final once. Valenciennes are currently placed in the 15th position on the Ligue 2 table.
