Atiku Abubakar, the presidential candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, has asked the Central Bank of Nigeria, CBN, to include the image of former President Olusegun Obasanjo on the redesigned naira notes.
He stated this in a tweet on his official Twitter handle on Saturday.
The PDP presidential candidate stated that Obasanjo deserves to be included in the new naira note in view of his positive contributions to Nigeria’s development.
Atiku noted that the gesture will greatly inspire the younger generation to sacrifice for the growth of their nation.

He tweeted, “Africa is blessed to have a statesman of such impeccable democratic credentials as Chief Obasanjo. A man whose image ought to be in the redesigned naira note to inspire future generations of Nigerians to sacrifice for their nation and continent.”
Recall that Godwin Emefiele, CBN governor, recently announced the plan by the apex bank to redesign N100, N200, N500, and N1000 notes.
The CBN said the new notes would go into circulation on December 5, 2022.
