Harry Kane, England forward has taken responsibility for the exit of the Three Lions from the 2022 World Cup on Saturday.
England was trailing France by 1-2 when they were offered a golden opportunity to equalize late into the second half after Theo Hernandez brought down Mason Mount in the box.
However, Kane who had leveled the tie through a well-taken penalty in the 54th minute fired his second attempt over the crossbar manned by his Tottenham Hotspur teammate, Hugo Lloris.

Reacting to the defeat, Kane said, “As the captain and the one who missed the penalty, I take responsibility for that.
“I prepare [the same] if I get one penalty or two penalties in a game. I can’t fault my preparation or the details before the game.
“I felt confident taking it, I just didn’t execute it the way I wanted to. Of course, it will be something I have to live with and take on the chin.”
