Witch Doctors To Treat Mane’s Injury Ahead of World Cup

Senegal is set to explore the use of witch doctors to treat the injury sustained by star forward, Sadio Mane ahead of the 2022 World Cup set to kick off this month.

There were fears that Mane could miss the World Cup after he limped off in Tuesday’s Bayern Munich’s t6-1 thrashing of Werder Bremen.

Bayern in a statement issued afterward ruled Mane out of this weekend’s match against Schalke.

Speaking on the development, Fatma Samoura, a Senegalese senior executive, who is FIFA’s first female Secretary General, said Senegal is ready to do whatever it takes to ensure Manu participates at the World Cup.

However, Samoura acknowledged that the unorthodox means may not prove successful but they have to explore it in the event that it proves useful.

Samoura said, “We are going to use witch doctors.

“I don’t know (if they’re effective) but in this instance, we’re going to use them anyway.

“We are hoping for miracles. He has to be there!”

Mane is set to be part of Senegal’s World Cup squad which is expected to be named on Friday, despite the fibula injury.

The striker ranks as the all-time highest goal scorer with 34 goals for Senegal and is just seven games short of becoming the record appearance maker. He has scored 11 goals and provided four assists since joining Bayern in the summer from Liverpool.
