The Kaduna Zonal Command of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission has successfully obtained a conviction against a well-known TikTok music star, Crown Uzama, along with five co-conspirators: Bethel Makuochukwu, John Joseph, Favour Chidiogo Emmanuel, Abdul-Azeez Suleiman Temidayo, and Joel Kator.

In a statement released on the agency’s official Twitter account on Friday, it was revealed that they have been found guilty of engaging in money laundering. All of the defendants pleaded guilty to the charges presented before Justice A. A. Isiaka.
The statement mentioned, “Justice Isiaka has sentenced the defendants to two years of imprisonment each, with the possibility of paying fines. Furthermore, they are required to surrender all electronic devices, furniture, and other possessions seized from them to the Federal Government of Nigeria.”

“The defendants were apprehended at different locations in Kaduna based on intelligence received by the Command. Through the investigation, it was determined that they had assumed the identities of foreign individuals and employed false personas to deceive unsuspecting victims.”
