Governor Darius Ishaku of Taraba State has lost the Taraba South senatorial district election to David Jimkuta of the All Progressives Congress, APC.

The Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC, returning officer for the poll, Prof. Solomon Adeyeye, while declaring the results said Jimkuta got a total of 85,415 votes to defeat Governor Darius of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP.

Adeyeye said, “By the powers conferred on me as returning officer, I hereby announce and declare David Jimkuta as the winner of the just concluded Taraba South Senatorial district election.”
After the declaration, Jimkuta thanked the teeming youths and security agencies for ensuring a peaceful atmosphere for the successful conduct of the election.
