The Confederation of African football (CAF) has congratulated Morocco for making it to the semi-final at the 2022 FIFA World Cup in Qatar.
The Atlas Lions made history as the first African country to achieve the feat courtesy of a 1-0 victory against Portugal.
Youssef En-Nesyri scored the only goal of the game in the 42nd minute heading the ball past Portuguese goalkeeper Diogo Costa.
CAF commended the historical feat of the Moroccans on the social media.
“Morocco become the first African side to reach #FIFA World Cup semi finals! What an achievement by the Atlas Lions! @En Maroc,” the continent’s soccer governing body tweeted.
