FC Porto president, Pinto da Costa, has disclosed that he would have loved Cristiano Ronaldo to join the club but that it will be difficult to afford his salary.

Recall that Ronaldo is currently a free agent after Manchester United terminated his contract last month.
The Portuguese star who is currently training at Real Madrid’s training ground following Portugal’s exit from the ongoing 2022 FIFA World Cup in Qatar, has been linked with different European clubs, including Porto.
However, Costa in a chat with AS, stated that no club in Portugal can foot the bill of Ronaldo.
“See Ronaldo in Portugal? It depends on him and the interested clubs, I think that in Portugal nobody has the capacity to give him the salary he earns, and he wants to keep winning because he still has the quality for that,” Da Costa was quoted by AS.
