The candidate of the New Nigeria People’s Party, NNPP, Yusuf Abba Kabir, has been declared winner of the Kano state governorship election by the Independent National Elections Commission.

According to the results announced by Ahmad Dokko Ibrahim, the returning officer, Yusuf polled a total of 1,019,602 votes, to defeat his closest rival Yusuf Gawuna of the APC who secured 890,705 votes.
