Former Super Eagles forward, Nwankwo Kanu, has reacted to reports that he endorsed All Progressives Congress, APC, presidential candidate, Bola Tinubu.
Kanu in a video shared on his Twitter page on Friday described the claim as “fake, wicked news”.
This follows an old video of the former Nigerian footballer which surfaced online, showing Kanu praising Tinubu.
Kanu was seen in the video which was captured in March 2022 during a visit to mark Tinubu’s 70th birthday recalling how Tinubu was among the first to donate to his foundation when it took off.
His speech was interpreted as an endorsement of the APC presidential candidate by Tinubu Supporters.
Reacting to the development, Kanu said he is not a politician and warned purveyor of the claims to “not try to destroy what you cannot destroy”.
