EFCC Nabs Kogi House Of Assembly Candidate With N326m, $140,500 Cash

Operatives of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC, have arrested a Kogi State House of Assembly aspirant of the New Nigeria Peoples Party, NNPP, identified as Ismaila Yusuf Atumeyi with huge cash amounting to N326million and $140,500.

This was disclosed in a statement issued by the Head, Media and Publicity of the commission, Wilson Uwajaren, on Tuesday.

According to the antigraft agency, Atumeyi who is contesting for the Ankpa II Constituency in the Kogi State House of Assembly, was arrested on Sunday.

The NNPP aspirant was arrested alongside an alleged serial scammer identified as Joshua Dominic, in an operation carried out at Macedonia Street, Queens Estate, Karsana, Gwarinpa area of Abuja.

The statement added that the arrest took place after several months of investigation into the hacking of a commercial bank by a group of fraudsters who stole N1.4billion.
