The Academic Staff Union of Universities (ASUU) has suspended its eight-month-old industrial action conditionally.
This was disclosed by a member of the union’s National Executive Committee, NEC, to Channels TV in the early hours of Friday.
ASUU decided to suspend the strike during a meeting of its leadership, which started on the night of Thursday and lasted till the early hours of Friday.
The union called the meeting to determine its next line of action after its state branches had met over the Court of Appeal ruling last week.
The union was ordered by the Court of Appeal to suspend the lingering strike, ordering that lecturers resume work.
