Anthony Joshua Accepts Fury World Title Fight Challenge

Nigerian-born British Boxer, Anthony Joshua has accepted the challenge to fight World Boxing Council, WBC, champion, Tyson Fury in a battle of British heavyweight clash.

There had been plans for a fight between Fury and Oleksandr Usyk, the Ukrainian who got the better of Joshua last month to defend his unified WBO, WBA, and IBF titles.

However, Usyk has appeared not to fancy another fight this year which has left Fury seeking another worthy challenger.

Fury, an undefeated heavyweight champion is not poised to fight Joshua.

He said, “I think you’ve all heard that I’m going to be fighting soon within the next few months.

“I think that before I announce an opponent that I need to do this just in case.

“Anthony Joshua, I know you’ve just lost a fight to Usyk and you’re bout-less at the moment, and I’d like to give you an opportunity to fight me for the WBC heavyweight championship of the world and the lineal championship in the next few months.

“You’re coming off a 12-round fight, so you’re match fit, you’re ready. I’m giving you a few months’ notice.
